Turley Wine Cellars Petite Syrah Library Vineyard 2003

External Review by Shop Wine Direct:

Wine Advocate ReviewThe 2003 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard (400 cases; 14.9% alcohol) exhibits a deep purple color and a nose of creosote, scorched earth, blue and black fruits, minerals, and hints of pepper and white flowers. A rich wine from a vineyard adjacent to the library in St. Helena, it should be at its finest between 2008-2025.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
