The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less

The 2011 Zinfandel Old Vines is a good introduction to the Turley house style. Sweet red berries, crushed flowers and licorice come together nicely in the glass. The 2011 offers lovely balance to match its pretty, understated personality. A feminine, gracious wine, it seems best suited for drinking over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2014.
