Turley Wine Cellars Dragon Vineyard Zinfandel 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

95 Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate: “The 2014 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard (15.9% alcohol) is from another Howell Mountain site where Turley has excelled. Beautiful floral notes intermixed with raspberry, black cherry, spice box and pepper are stunningly rich, long and heady. This is a real beauty, full-bodied, opulent and a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.” 91-94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2014 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard is intensely mineral and savory in style, with tons of graphite, smoke, black cherry, menthol, lavender and sage pushed forward. The aromatics alone are utterly beguiling, but the firm, insistent tannins suggest it will be at least a few years before the 2014 is ready to offer its finest drinking." 10/15

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
