Turley Uboldi Vineyard Alicante Bouschet 2013

Member Review by EMark:

Beautiful dark plum color. Bit of a phenolic nose. On the tongue an introduction of red cherry. Some alcohol. Tannin is noticeable around the edges of my tongue. As the wine warms, a bit, the tannin notes around the edges of the tongue are replace by an enjoyable suggestion of citric acid. A big mouth-filling wine. Very pleasant aftertaste.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
