Turley the Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Member Review by EMark:

Perfectly functional wine. I like it as a daily drinker, but it is not of the style that I expect from a Napa CS. Light fruit on entry. It’s easy to pronounce this one as “balanced” since it is not a terribly complex wine. One dimensional describes it for me. Light on tannins and acidity leads me to the conclusion that this one is not a long ager. Because I know somebody will be appalled at my opinion I do admit (horrors) that I P-n-Ped.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
