Turley Petite Syrah Napa Valley Hayne Vineyard 1995

Winemaker's Notes:

94-96 points Robert Parker: "The 1995 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is absolutely enthralling, and as extraordinary as the 1994. It is still in an infantile state, but my notes suggested I was tasting a run away, high speed train. An opaque purple color, massive richness, and huge thickness and extract should produce a phenomenal bottle of wine in 15-20 years. Not many of us have the patience to wait on such uncompromisingly made wines, but I suspect the time invested will be well worth it."

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
