Turley Petite Sirah Napa Valley Aida Vineyard 1994
"Jan 2007 has become quite mellow with a lingering finish. Very terroir driven like a good French Burgundy (same color). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 90-92, Turley Cellars' 1994s are further evidence of just what a terrific new producer this winery is. The two 1994 Petite Syrahs from the Aida and Hayne Vineyards are monster wines. Both exhibit opaque black/purple colors, huge, concentrated fruit, mouthsearing tannin levels, frightening intensity and flavor extraction, and good balance. If purchasers are willing to wait a decade, something magical will develop in the bottle. Consumers are forewarned - these two wines are not likely to provide much pleasure for another decade."" """
Iron pyrite and squid ink on the nose. Lots of sediment. The ferrite flavors continue and the wine has an iodine note. Very thick and deep still. Powerful and still robust.
