Turley P.Sirah Rattlesnake 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

92-94 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate Not surprisingly, one of the great Petite Syrahs made in this vintage has again come from the Hayne Vineyard. Turleys inky/blue/purple-tinged 2005 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard possesses a boatload of tannin as well as a fabulously concentrated attack and mid-palate. This full-bodied monster reveals beautiful purity and intensity as well as a superb attack and richness. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the next 20-25 years.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa. Read less
