Turley Mead Ranch Zinfandel 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

88-91 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2015 Zinfandel Mead Ranch from a site on Atlas Peak, is a powerful, savory wine. Dried cherry, cherry pit, herbs and white pepper are some of the nuances that give the wine its distinctive personality. The Mead Ranch is not as flashy as most of the other Zinfandels in the range. Today, the fruit is a bit muted and in the background. It will be interesting to see where this goes." 12/16

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
