Turley Dogtown Vineyard Lodi Zinfandel 2010
Turley Dogtown Vineyard Lodi Zinfandel is a dark, dusty, deep more serious wine than most would imagine from Lodi. Dogtown is not flamboyant with the fruit; what's there is fine and savory, Rhone-like. Graphite, black tea and a spice box all come to mind on the nose. 2010 was a truly ideal growing season in Lodi, with the fruit getting picked two weeks later than normal. That extra hang time means even better acid, tannin and fruit synergy.
Editorial Reviews for Turley Dogtown Vineyard Lodi Zinfandel
Rather intense on the nose with dark, slightly toffeed berry fruit, toasty, creamy marshmallow notes topped with some stemmy spices notes and a little toasted coconut. This is fairly tannic, even if the wine itself is nicely medium to full bodied with bramble and slightly herbal inner mouth perfumes lending a Grenache-like quality to the strawberry. The very fine finish shows good length with black cherry/bright tart berry flavors. 91 points

Turley 00 Dogtown ZinfandelThe 2000 Zinfandel Dogtown (16.2% alcohol) is a huge effort. It is not as complex as some of its siblings, but it offers copious amounts of straightforward berry fruit intermixed with balsam wood, earth, and spice characteristics.
