Food Pairings for Turkey Flat Rosé
On the banks of Tanunda Creek in the heart of Barossa where bush turkeys once roamed, the Silesian settler Johann Fiedler planted the first Shiraz vines in 1843. Highly suited to the terroir, they thrived and in 1865 the land was bought by Gottlieb Ernst Schulz, a butcher of sound reputation. Four generations later, Peter and his wife Christie made the transition from grape growing to winemaking, handcrafting this pristine old fruit into a range of superb wines. Not only are these wines the perfect example of how Rhône varietals can work elsewhere, but the perfect expression of the warm Barossa climate. Australia is ideally suited to producing and consuming wine as fruity, refreshing and reviving as an ice cool glass of Rosé. We enjoy the perfect climate and have the ideal grape varieties, as well as the perfect food culture to complement this style of wine. The 2008 Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Dolcetto. Each of these varieties adds its own unique character to make this our most complex Rosé yet.
