Tua Rita Giusto di Notri 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"A dark, brooding wine, the 2012 Giusto di Notri presents a compelling array of dark stone fruits, grilled herbs, smoke, tobacco and menthol. The power of Suvereto and these Bordeaux varieties are both super-expressive in a virile, imposing wine loaded with personality and gorgeous, totally resonant fruit. This is a terrific showing...94." A fruit bomb this packs cherry jam blackberry and spice flavors into a round juicy frame. Light tannins bolster the finish which echoes fruit with cherry and raspberry lingering. Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2020. 1 650 cases made. -BS Wine Spectator.

Loads of milk chocolate and berry character on the nose. Full body, with velvety tannins and a fruity finish. Delicious. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet France. Better after 2013.

Although the 2003 Giusto di Notri a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc may not quite reach the level of the 2004 it too is outstanding. Boasting an attractive set of super-ripe fruit earth herb and well-integrated oak sensations it is a plump juicy Giusto di Notri that should provide its best drinking within the next few years. Like so many 2003s it suffers from slightly hard drying tannins but there is enough fruit to provide balance and the tannins have become better integrated since I last tasted this wine a few months ago. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2013. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Wine Spectator ReviewThis is very jammy on the nose, but impressive with lots of raspberry and blackberry aromas. Full-bodied, soft and round, with loads of opulent fruit. Lots of vanilla on the finish. Thick and caressing. Flamboyant red here. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2006.
