External Reviews for Trumpeter Familia Rutini Malbec
Juicy raspberry, blackberry and fig flavors are backed by well-integrated toast on the medium-weight finish. Drink now.
The wines from Argentina are great in quality and reasonably priced! This one is dark and dense with attractive berry aromas. A full, fruity wine, with excellent body, it has flavors of cherry, blackberry, boysenberry and plum. The wine has hints of sweet spice upon a long lasting finish. Enjoy with char-broiled steaks or BBQ ribs.
Good full red-ruby. Subdued but pure aromas of plum and pepper lifted by spices. A juicy, reserved midweight, with a restrained sweetness to its dark fruit and pepper flavors. Not complex but nicely balanced. Finished with rather fine-grained tannins. The best of the current wines under the trumpeter label, but those listed as ldquo;also recommendedrdquo; are similarly good value.
Soft and composed bouquet, with fruit aromas you will recognize and nothing funky or strained. The mouth is complete and better than ordinary, with pure but simple cassis, blueberry and plum fruit. A hint of oak allows for coffee and mocha to grace the modest finish.
This wine offers delicious, persistent dark fruit flavors, great balance and smooth tannins on the finish. Malbec is an excellent alternative to Cabernet, and happily is an affordable and ageworthy Bordeaux varietal. You may enjoy the wine by itself, or with a hearty steak or stew. And the price is right!
Very floral and pure, with red plum, cherry, licorice and mocha notes followed by tangy minerality. Drink now.
Heavily extracted, with roasted aromas of charred wood, beef and coconut. The mouth pushes bold cherry, blackberry and plum flavors, while the finish is slick yet tangy. This wine shows bulk around the edges but its leaner and more acidic in its center. Solid for everyday action, assuming you like yours big.
