What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Winemakers Notes

Floral aromas of ripe plum, cassis, and blackberry; highlighted with vanilla, earth, and white pepper. The mouth is rich - layered with flavors of black cherry, berry jam, and red currants; followed by mineral and cracked black pepper. Mouth-filling tannins provide an opulent finish of fruit and spice.

Reviews

Very impressive Syrah, especially following the 2004 Sequel. Nice and peppery, with black raspberry fruit and earthiness.

Not as impressive as the last bottle. Still, quite a nice drinking wine. Had with vegetable lasagne. Mixed well with the cheese and tomato sauce. Nice fruit, but not quite as much depth as previous bottle, and not as much secondary flavor. Decent QPR, so I can't complain...
