Trivento Malbec 2009

Member Review by StanH24:

I quite like this wine. Jam packed with flavor, just a little rough on the edges, so to say. The tannins are a bit harsh, as they have not had time to settle down. Worth it overall!

So there I was, having a glass of Trivento Malbec on a sunny Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately I was not a fan. Seconded by my beautiful counterpart who is also an experienced wine drinker. This wine was not pleasant on the first sip and did not open up, left us with tinted teeth and a headache. I have only poured 4 bottles down the drain before and this is one of them.

Ripe and pure, offering a lovely beam of raspberry and plum fruit laced with sweet spice, followed by a velvety finish. Drink now.

Quite bright, sweet and fruity, with a hint of cherry candy and blackberry on the bouquet and then a juicy, fresh palate with mild chocolate, raspberry and proper texture. For $11 this wine is more than competent; it's very good. 50,000 cases made.

Dark, with a core of very ripe black currant, raspberry ganache and black licorice notes, supported by polished tannins. A raspberry note emerges more on the lengthy finish. Very solid. Malbec, Bonarda and Syrah. Drink now through 2012. 15,000 cases ... Wine Spectator. A Malbec wine from Mendoza in Argentina. 2009 Trivento Bodegas Y Vinedos Amador Sur Malbec 750ml

Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec is purplered with deep violet tones. It has a bouquet of berry fruits, plum jam, coffee and tobacco notes. The wine is elegant and powerful on the palate with velvety tannins.
