Trio Vintners is a partnership between Walla Walla winemakers Denise Slattery and Steve Michener. Each brings a unique perspective and skill set to the winemaking process and they are pooling their collective talents to create food-friendly wines from small lot production using premium grapes grown throughout Eastern Washington.

This Zinfandel is different from CA. It is subtle and complex. It is not jammy like so many CA Zins. I like it for its complexity.
The aromas are unmistakable and, on first swirl we cried out in unison, “Caramelized Walla Walla sweet Onions and Klicker blueberries served on a plank of old-growth Western Red Cedar”! Flavors of sour cherry and dried herbs are equally hard to miss. There is an undercurrent of a wintergreen and clove on the finish. With the addition of Mourvèdre, Sangiovese and Syrah we don’t think anyone will mistake it for a Sonoma Zinfandel but we think we are working with some pretty special fruit here.
