Trinity Hill Tempranillo Gimblett 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Situated on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Trinity Hill is a partnership between John Hancock, Robert and Robyn Wilson (owners of London’s Bleeding Heart and The Don restaurants) and Aucklanders Trevor and Hanne Janes. Three founding partners, hence the name “Trinity Hill”. Highly regarded for his all round abilities in both the cellar and vineyard, John Hancock has extensive experience in Australia, France and New Zealand. This Tempranillo holds wild raspberry and plum fruit aromas with spice and a little vanilla from oak barrels. This is an elegant wine with firm but not heavy tannin structure. The texture is silky and there is great persistence of wild fruit flavours on the finish.

A subtle difference from the 2005, but just as good. Fruity, smooth tannins, lush with a long finish all combine to make this another winner. Highly recommend to those looking for something different.
