This shows a lot of toasty, smoky, slightly vanillin tinged oak on the nose over rich, spicy pineapple and lemon fruit. There’s a lot going on here and while this really isn’t my style of Chardonnay it is fresh and complex. On the palate this has nice weight, it’s rich and creamy but fairly seamlessly blends in all that softness and wood spice with a broad, luxurious mouthfeel. The finish is a bit bumpy, needing a bit more time to fully integrate but it’s long, with a nice dried fruit character. 91pts
