This lush Cab come from the 13-acre vineyard that surrounds the Trinchero Winery right in St. Helena. Located in a narrow, protected part of the Napa Valley, the geography is the product of river erosion, giving the soil a unique rocky composition ideally situated to growing stellar Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 17 months in New French oak, Robert Parker rated this 2007 90+ points and called it the "sleeper of the vintage". The review reads "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Mario’s Vineyard (from a 13-acre parcel on St. Helena near their new winery) is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This densely purple wine is youthful, but displays a big, sweet kiss of spring flowers and forest floor intermixed with creme de cassis, black cherry, spice box and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied, rich, and impressive, it needs 3-4 years of cellaring and should drink well for 20-25 years. It is a sleeper of the vintage." Very limited!
