We love the universality of a good Riesling and have found some good inexpensive wines from Alsace. This particular choice is over the top on minerality for my taste and lacks the drinkability of many similarly priced Rieslings.

The classic grape of Alsace. At once delicate and vital, its intense fruit is given great length by a backbone of crisp acidity producing some of the worlds greatest and long-lasting wines.Tasting notes: Beautiful in color with a hint of green on the edge, this wine needs a few more months to reveal its potential and will age gracefully another few years. The nose is developed and shows a hint of mineral flavor associated with good ripeness and acidity and a lingering clean and dry finish. It is ready to drink now but has the potential to age another five years. Food pairing: An ideal accompaniment to traditional Alsace-style dishes such as goose and pork. Riesling is one of very few wines to be able to match sushi or sushi-styled foods.

A family-run winery since 1626 with some of the best Grand Cru vineyards in Alsace. This, the basic Riesling, is delicate yet firm, fresh, dry and finely mineral.
