What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

This Riesling is a great classic of Alsace. At once delicate and vital its intense fruit is given great length by a backcome of crisp acidity producing some of the world's greatest and longest tasting wines.

Reviews

Very acidic wine. Fruity, smooth start, taste lingers for a good 20-30 seconds. Very nice, but just too acidic for me.

A family-run winery since 1626 with some of the best Grand Cru vineyards in Alsace. This, the basic Riesling, is delicate yet firm, fresh, dry and finely mineral.

Bright, with green edges and a developed nose, the wine shows a hint of mineral flavor, which is associated with perfect ripeness. Flavors of white peach, quince and lemon on the palate with a lingering, clean and dry finish. Riesling is at its best with marinated, grilled, or sauced fish, and sushi. Very good with traditional Alsace dishes like onion tarte, choucroute, and pork.
