Bright, with green edges and a developed nose, the wine shows a hint of mineral flavor, which is associated with perfect ripeness. Flavors of white peach, quince and lemon on the palate with a lingering, clean and dry finish. Riesling is at its best with marinated, grilled, or sauced fish, and sushi. Very good with traditional Alsace dishes like onion tarte, choucroute, and pork.

We love the universality of a good Riesling and have found some good inexpensive wines from Alsace. This particular choice is over the top on minerality for my taste and lacks the drinkability of many similarly priced Rieslings.

A family-run winery since 1626 with some of the best Grand Cru vineyards in Alsace. This, the basic Riesling, is delicate yet firm, fresh, dry and finely mineral.

"Pale yellow-green color. Delicate aromas of flowers, lime and stone. Juicy and vibrant, with lovely sweet limey fruit given cut by bright acidity. A brisk, fruit-driven style of riesling that really should be held for two or three years...88." IWC 7/07
