What to Expect

Pinot Grigio is one of the world's most popular wines. Also known under the French moniker "Pinot Gris", and even the German "Ruländer" among others, Pinot Grigio is a chameleon of a grape. It is produced in a range of styles, from the light fruity Italian style that has gained popularity, to a more mineral, flinty rich wine favored by the French - particularly in Alsace - and emulated by many in the new world.

Reviews

I thought that this was a really nice wine. It was pleasantly dry, not too sweet, and well rounded thanks to some minerality. It definitely has more body than most pinot grigios that I have tried...chalk another win up for terroir.

Deep, golden tropical fruit is the theme here. Full-bodied and sublimely flavorful, this wine is incredibly rich yet fully dry, showing great balancing acidity.

100% Pinot Gris, with grapes sourced from the Trimbach's own vineyards and about 100 growers with whom the family has long-term relationships. Not to be confused with Italy's Pinot Grigio, the Pinot Gris vine of Alsace is descended from the Pinot Beurot, originally from Burgundy. Abundant ripe fruit on the nose and a creaminess on the palate are brought to life with subtle acidity. Softer and less challenging than other varieties, this wine is still totally dry. A good choice for appetizers, fish and shellfish, poultry and other white meats and many lighter pasta, rice and Asian dishes.
