User Reviews for Trimbach Pinot Gris Reserve Personelle

Winemaker's Notes:

Grape Variety/Vineyard Site: 100% Pinot Gris, from the Grand Cru Osterberg and from the adjacent Lieu-dit of Trottacker above the Trimbach winery in Ribeauville. The soils are quite rich in clay and minerals with substantial limestone deposits. Vinification and aging: After the grapes are gently pressed, the must is allowed to settle to remove any impurities. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks at approximately 20 degrees Celsius. The Trimbach family inhibit the malolactic fermentation, thus preserving the grapes' fresh natural acidity and fruit character, as well as the aging potential of the wines. Style: The Trimbach style of wine is one of finesse, elegance, and superb concentration, preserving the vibrant natural acidity and characteristic fruit flavors of the individual varietal as well as the aging potential of great wine. Food: Excellent with all fish but especially salmon, Pinot Gris is also a superb accompaniment to chicken, veal, Foie Gras and mild cheeses.
