I paid $16.99 for this very nice '06 Trimbach Gewürztraminer from Alsace, France. It had a light golden color with a floral fragrance followed by a lychee and spice aroma. It was more full-bodied than most gewürztraminers that I have tasted. On the palate it was dry and elegant; well-balanced and mature with plenty of fruit and spice. The finish was long, dry, and spicy.
Medicial, bitter mid-palate, but nice subtle honey finish.

Classic Alsatian Gewürztraminer: dry, elegant, and mineral, with fine floral aromas. A very nice bottle, and an excellent introduction to one of the most delicious and distinctive grape varieties there is.
