Tres Sabores Rutherford Perspective Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
A five barrel selection from our home vineyard, this proud, feisty 2010 Cabernet has a dusty blackberry nose of considerable proportion that yields to dried plums, cedar, and a compendium of sweet mixed spices featuring star anise. The flavors are bold and plush with a velvet interior –overall the impression is one of rounded elegance. We recommend a purchase of at least three bottles: one for tomorrow’s decanter, one for a dinner party in a year or two, one for much longer aging in your cellar.
Editorial Reviews for Tres Sabores Rutherford Perspective Cabernet Sauvignon
Tight on the nose with gentle suggestions of flowers, sweet mint and subtle toasted oak spice. Smooth, rich and polished in the mouth with a supple, slightly chewy feel to it. The fruit is generous and fills the palate with crushed blackberry and black currant flavors but this comes off as a touch simple with jammy and candied licorice tones on the mid-palate leading to a dusty, moderately long finish. Relatively easy to drink this seems like it should improve. 89pts

An elegant nose: blackcurrant and cocoa with a trace of bay leaf. Medium-plus-bodied in the mouth with blackcurrant, powdery mocha and dark chocolate framed by medium-plus chalky and grainy tannins. Decant now or drink from 2015 to 2022. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 200 cases. 92 points
