Winemaker's Notes:

Our Hillspring Vineyard on the Mayacamas foothills of western Napa Valley expresses its terroir so elegantly in HaLo. A spring-fed creek runs though the vineyard with banks lined with blackberry bushes, bay trees and valley oaks. The surrounding vineyards soak up these flavors and that enchanting aroma of a mountain vineyard is echoed in the wine. The nose is defined by black fruit, bay leaves and chocolate. The luscious mouth is highlighted with raspberry and blackberry. Subtle notes of tobacco, smoke and earth dance in the background, deriving from the Hillspring soil itself. Spice and black pepper give way to a lingering finish. This wine will evolve in a cellar for the next 20 to 30 years. Decanting before serving is recommended. Food Affinities: HaLo should be reserved for the finest cuts of full-flavored beef and game. If serving with cheese, Piave Vecchio is a great match along with a medium ripe Brie or Manchego.
