Trebbiano Dabruzzo Farnese 2010
Exceptionally intense, citrus-scented beauty from the quality-obsessed team at Farnese Vini. As its many fans will tell you, Farnese stands for unbeatable quality and value. So it's no wonder they were voted Italian Winery of the Year three years in a row by the countrys highly influential Luca Maroni wine guide (no easy feat). In the hands of master winemaker Filippo Baccalero, Trebbiano becomes so much more than the workhorse white variety its traditionally known as. Low-yielding vines and Filippo's deft touch ensures beguiling glassfuls of fresh lemon, melon and citrus with that distinctive almond character only found in the best examples. Don't miss Filippo's top-notch take.
Farnese Vini is a wine label and importer based in southern Italy. The wines are primarily produced in the Abruzzo region, with expansion into Puglia and Campania. The company is named for 16th century Princess Margherita d’Austria, wife of Ottavio Farnese, who planted the initial vineyards in Abruzzo. In addition to value-driven, quality wines, the company also produces grappa.
