Treana Red Treana Trocken Usa California /Td Central Coast Treana 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

At harvest, vineyard lots were fermented separately then barreled down in 100% French oak from a variety of coopers. 65% of the barrels were new. After crafting the blend, the 2004 Treana Red was aged 14 months in barrel and racked only twice during its cellar life. The wine is 100% un-fined and unfiltered.

wonderfully complex, yet unified flavor. currant, pepper, oak, chocolate. balanced throughout, long on the tongue, fabulous finish. from the moment it's opened to the last drop it retains its tone and pitch. wow.

Tasting Notes:

The 2004 Treana Red displays well integrated tannins that lend structure, depth and elegance to this bold wine. Up-front aromas of ripe, dark fruit and anise are followed by rich flavors of mulberry and plum. Subtle notes of tobacco, toasted oak and clean minerality complement the wine's explosive fruit character. A full, rounded mouthfeel leads to a silky, lasting finish. This wine will age beautifully over the next decade.
