User Reviews for Travaglini Nebbiolo Gattinara
Add your reviewBlack Cherry, Oak and ""ashtray"" on the nose along with a little skittles and green pepper. This wine had high acidity and pleasing tannins with black cherry, cigar and oak characteristics. The 13.5% alcohol was noticable, but not overpowering. This wine paired very well with food. Combined this wine with Spinach Goat Cheese & Walnut salad (with warm balsamic dressing) and Lobster Risotto at neighborhood italian restaurant. Great food wine. Interesting bottle -- not designed for easy storage!

This wine was a little tight upon opening, but kept on opening and opening up throughout the meal. A great layering of aroma... black cherry and licorice sitting above a wonderful earthiness. A spiciness fills the mouth and this wine gives a long lasting finish throughout the mouth. I love this wine. I'd hate to have to store this bottle in a small wine fridge though!
