User Reviews for Trapiche Melodias Malbec
Add your reviewVery creamy on the nose. Initally a little strawberry hit but was soon taken over by leatheriness. Sat nicely on the mid palate. Very dark, heavy fruits - blackberries especially. Decent tannins and good structure - a nice surprise given my recent experiences with Argentinian wines.
External Reviews for Trapiche Melodias Malbec
This very dark garnet wine shades to clear reddish-purple at the rim. Jammy fruit, cherries, spice and smoke on the nose; full-bodied, tart and gently tannic, ripe black-cherry fruit and a hint of strong black coffee on the palate. Firmly structured with fresh-fruit acidity, it adds a distinct whiff of licorice in the finish. Bigger and more robust than many Malbecs, it's a hearty mouthful of red wine.
In November 2008, along with the celebrations of it 125th Anniversary, Trapiche opened the doors of its new winery, founded in 1912 and located in a ten-hectare estate, among vineyards and olive trees. It was acquired by Trapiche in 2006 to be recycled and restored, incorporating the latest technology and equipment for the production of its high-end wines. Quality, innovation and diversity have always been Trapiche’s fundamental drivers, the basis on which it stands and moves forward. A signature wine, this Malbec is an incredible value. Sourced from selected vineyards in the high area of the Mendoza River and Mendoza’s eastern region the grapes are all hand harvested and slow fermented with select yeasts. It shows a rich, red color with violet hues, redolent of plums and cherries. Round in the on the palate with a touch of truffle and vanilla.
