Trapiche Malbec 2012
Editorial Reviews for Trapiche Malbec
Buttered toast and black cherry jam on the nose with a little bit of a mace like spice top note. Soft yet fairly juicy, this is likeably mid-weight with good intensity to the black cherry/black raspberry fruit. The oak is well judged here, adding just a hint of spice to the palate. A bit of a lightweight in Malbec land but likeably so, and nicely dry especially on the finish which is a touch short. 84pts
Cassis and black cherry on the nose.Somewhat boozy. Initial tastes are soft peppery notes with blackberry fruit. Somewhat lightweight mouthfeel and a dry finish. Might go well with red meat, easy drinking but nothing special.
Wonderful Surprise. Powerful without being harsh. great with aR&J Nazareth
Very earthy and jammy nose, the body is dry and has moderate tannins. Very enjoyable, goes well w/ a plain burger.
You know, for an inexpensive Malbec this is a pretty great value. Definitely fruity and food-friendly. Bit of a toasty kick. Would be good as a party wine for casual sipping.
Not quite as enthusiastic about Trpiche but not a bad Malbec, just not great.

This spicy, oak-tinged, black-cherry-scented wine possesses attractive, elegant flavors, medium body, fine depth, and an alluring softness.
Sattes, jugendliches Rot. Würziges, dunkelfruchtiges Bouquet, Noten von Kräutern, Zedernholz. Straffe noch jugendliche Struktur, gute Dichte und einiges an warmer Fülle. Feinfruchtiger Abgang.

Modest plum and black cherry fruit gets a whack of bacony toast. Good, but lacks purity. Drink now. 100,000 cases made
