Winemaker's Notes:

Trapiche is located in Mendoza at the foothills of Los Andes and is Argentina’s largest exported Premium brand, exporting today its wines to more than 80 countries world wide. Trapiche represents “the richness of diversity” in Argentina. Throughout its history, it has understood like no other the strength of the viticulture in Argentina and it has specialized in obtaining the best from every site to create unique wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon Oak Cask has an intense red color. It is a cabernet sauvignon with a soul of black cherries, blackberries, cedar and spices. Full and round with elegant, velvety tannins and a long aftertaste with notes of tobacco and smoke.

The Trapiche team was immensely proud to receive the Trophy for the "Argentinian Wine Producer of the Year 2006", awarded by a jury of wine experts on October 31st in London. When the IWSC, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, created the trophy for "Argentinian wine producer of the year" in 2004, Trapiche was the first winery ever to receive it. The trophy was created because of the growing importance of the Argentina category within the industry; P&O Nedlloyd Logistics is the official sponsor. History repeats itself. Being awarded the trophy again is the proof that Trapiche is paving the way in Argentina´s wine industry, both in terms of quality and innovation. The winner is designated on the basis of its general performance at the IWSC 2006 and Trapiche won the only Gold Medal for an Argentinian wine with Medalla 2003. According to the competition officials, "Each year, the International Wine and Spirit Competition commends the achievements of those members of the wine and spirit trade who make an outstanding contribution to the industry. These individuals or companies set the standards of excellence for the rest of the industry to follow and influence the quality, variety, value, and educational information available to the wine and spirit consumer." Undoubtedly this trophy consolidates Trapiche´s leadership in the Argentinian wine industry. Read less

Smooth on the palate. Spicey. Went nicely with spaghetti and vegetarian meatballs in a tomato and basil sauce. Long finish.

Noble wine of a bright red color. Aromas of black fruit and spices. Soft and balanced on the palate, with a pleasant, Long-lasting tannic sensation.

Blackcurrant emanates from the glass follwed by hints of mocca, fine-grained leather, and licorice.

Yellow Color with green hues. Toasted bread and apple pie aromas, typical fragrances of the variety combined with the elegance of the oak. Round wine with good acidity.
