Cantina Tramin embodies the typical features of our land: the charm of nature and its ability to engage the senses, a creative and precise approach to consistent, quality production, and the ability to create a system based on cooperation. Among the oldest and most traditional wineries in Südtirol - Alto Adige, Cantina Tramin is based in Termeno on the Strada del Vino. The owners of the winery are the 300 growers who farm vineyards in the sub-zones of Termeno, Ora, Montagna and Egna – this area, nearly 250 hectares in total, is the cradle of the Gewürztraminer grape. The winery produces an average of 1.8 million bottles per year; approximately 75% of production is for the Italian market, and the remaining 25% is for export, with an annual turnover of 10 million euros. Our wines have been awarded the prestigious Tre Bicchieri twenty times, becoming a 2 star winery (less then 30 in all over Italy), and Cantina Tramin is consistently cited by international food and wine guides as one of Italy’s top quality wineries. Floral bouquet of orange blossom and tangerine. Palate is juicy and fresh due to the cooler climate, with lemon and green apple flavors and good acidity and spice ticking the palate with some additional floral notes and a pop of tart citrus which melts into a yeasty finish.

Extremely fresh and crisp with beautiful floral notes graced by undertones of peach, pear, and slight golden apple. Structured and complex, this is a beautiful sipping wine but big enough to stand up to some nice appetizers

Lots of cirtusy tones, a bit of green tea, and a nice toasted finish. This is a really great wine.

Alto Adige is the northern part of the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy that borders the Austrian Tyrol. It was ceded to Italy only after the First World War. This region owes its Italian name of “Alto-Adige” to the river Adige that flows through on its way to the Adriatic. The sleepy village of Termeno/Tramin is thought to be the birthplace of the Traminer white grape variety, also known as Gewurztraminer. In 2004 Will Stűrz, the winemaker at Tramin, was nominated “Italian winemaker of the Year” by the prestigious Gambero Rosso and makes some of the best white wines in Italy. Tramin proudly holds the “Stella”, the star awarded to a winery for achieving the prestigious “3 Bicchieri” 10 times.
