At tradewinds winery, we focus on producing tropical fruit wines from 100% pure fruit. no additives (other than a bit of sulfites to keep the wine from browning, just like 99.9% of all other wineries). We have a Pineapple wine made from 100% pure pineapple juice, a bit of natural residual sweetness and a lovely golden color. We also produce a 100% pure Passion Fruit wine. Zippy and tangy with a wonderful natural sweetness.
This stuff was hardly palatable. If you're on Oahu you'll see it everywhere, but don't be tempted. Try a bottle of Maui Blanc first, because this wine is just terrible.
OK, I'm really upset. The bloke that tasted this wine must have just eaten some bad poke, because I tasted the wine next to the locally produced quaff and honest, the tradewinds was a whole lot better. I've been forced to drink mekong whiskey and warm coke up in northern Myanmar and had no trouble polishing off a bottle, but when I tasted the locally produced pineapple wine, I couldn't even finish one glass. The tradewinds is 100% pure pineapple juice, as opposed to the local stuff which is flavored with artificial pineapple junk and caramel color (read the label!). The tradewinds tasted like real pineapples, it had a slight bit of sweetness, nice color. I used it one time in a sangria recipe that I got from a recipe card attached to the bottle and it was absolutely fantastic. So whoever wrote the bad review is either a shill working for the local winery on Maui, or they have all their taste buds at their body exit port.
