Tradewinds Bordeaux Blend Yorkville Highlands 2005
This Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot hails from the Yorkville Highlands region of Mendocino County. The grapes were all grown in a vineyard that is part of a 600 acre property on Highway 128 in Mendocino County near Boonville. The land was originally a Christmas tree farm until 118 acres were planted to vines in 1999. The topography is a combination of rolling hills and steep hillsides with elevations reaching 200 ft.
At tradewinds winery, we focus on producing tropical fruit wines from 100% pure fruit. no additives (other than a bit of sulfites to keep the wine from browning, just like 99.9% of all other wineries). We have a Pineapple wine made from 100% pure pineapple juice, a bit of natural residual sweetness and a lovely golden color. We also produce a 100% pure Passion Fruit wine. Zippy and tangy with a wonderful natural sweetness.
