Matched with Cochinillo Asado - organic roast suckling pig stuffed with juniper and rosemary with wild rocket and a Cox's Apple Sauce - this blend of Spanish and international varieties (Garnacha Tinta, Syrah, Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon) was a deliciously superb match hiting every spot. http://www.spittoon.biz/wine_and_food_matching_ideas_f.html

In Europe there is a region of dry and hot climate, whose vineyards are planted on a slate ground, with very low yields per plant. The wines of this region are powerful, dark, concentrated and long maturing period in oak. It could be the Douro, but is the Priorat, sub-region of Catalonia, which produces wines tremendously powerful and has figured as international star wines among the most vibrant in the old continent. This Salmos,from the competent Torres Vina, is one such example. Made from grapes Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cariñena, has purplish ruby color with intense aromas of fruit jam, chocolate and spices. In mouth is powerful, oily and very striking. Ripe tannins, the quantity of alcohol and good acidity balances the body of this wine.
