User Reviews for Torremoron Tempranillo Ribera del Duero
Add your reviewThis Tempranillo was delicious, but it was not groundbreaking. It is definitely a great value. I found the nose to be very inviting. This wine had great texture and a lengthy spicy finish. It was lacking in complexity and the tannins were a bit pronounced.
Dark red violet hue with orange ring, dusty earth and black cherry, raspberry nose carries to the mouth with lean, rigid feel. Unfocused with a short finish. Food pairings add some missing dimensions.
After decanting and letting it breath a bit I pour my glass. The wine is a beautiful, bright violet/garnet color. The nose is a little red currant, cherry and mint with a good touch of old-world earthiness that I enjoy in my wines. The wine is medium bodied, good tannins and acidity delivering juicy raspberries and producing an "Ahhhh" of pleasure.

Bright ruby. Perfumed, expressive bouquet of black and blue fruits and candied rose. Ripe and generous on the palate, offering fleshy cherry and blackberry flavors and a touch of black pepper. Dusty tannins add grip to the sweet, nicely persistent finish.
An excellent bargain, this 100% Tempranillo (80ndash;100-year old vines) was aged completely in stainless steel. Patrick Mata told me that the village from which it emerges has only 95 residents, all of whom are grape farmers! This may be the ldquo;bargain of the yearrdquo; in my tastings. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as copious notes of black cherry jam, licorice, blackberries and subtle hints of earth, pepper and meat. Drink this medium to full-bodied, rich, layered red over the next 2ndash;3 years.

This smoky, lip-smacking red is made from 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). It's unoaked with a myriad of flavors of blackberries, blueberries and spice. A phenomenal example of how well this grape shows without the use of wood.
The 2003 is even better than the 2004, perhaps due to the fact that it has been in bottle a year longer and thus had a chance to reveal more stuffing. A sweet, intense, expansive perfume of raspberries is reminiscent of a high quality Pinot Noir. It offers a lovely texture, medium body, and tremendous purity as well as length. It is hard to believe how much wine is packed into the bottle at this price point. Enjoy this Spanish red over the next several years.
Exhibits crisp acidity in its fruity, delightful personality. Loads of cherry and raspberry fruit and a dry, smooth finish.
In the town of Quintanamanvirgo, where Torremorón is grown and produced, you will find a little over 100 people who live there, and nearly everyone of them has some part is creating this great value wine. The wine is made up of 100% Tempranillo and the climate of hot days and cool nights allow the grape to reach it's full potential. Because of the climate the wine is deep in color and flavor (lots of berries) and the finish is smooth and silky. When I was there we enjoyed the wine with grilled lamb with fresh vegetables.
