Dark red violet hue with orange ring, dusty earth and black cherry, raspberry nose carries to the mouth with lean, rigid feel. Unfocused with a short finish. Food pairings add some missing dimensions.

After decanting and letting it breath a bit I pour my glass. The wine is a beautiful, bright violet/garnet color. The nose is a little red currant, cherry and mint with a good touch of old-world earthiness that I enjoy in my wines. The wine is medium bodied, good tannins and acidity delivering juicy raspberries and producing an "Ahhhh" of pleasure.

The 2003 is even better than the 2004, perhaps due to the fact that it has been in bottle a year longer and thus had a chance to reveal more stuffing. A sweet, intense, expansive perfume of raspberries is reminiscent of a high quality Pinot Noir. It offers a lovely texture, medium body, and tremendous purity as well as length. It is hard to believe how much wine is packed into the bottle at this price point. Enjoy this Spanish red over the next several years.

Reminiscent of a high quality Zinfandel with lower alcohol and less body, the 2004 Torremoron exhibits crisp acidity in its fruity, pure, delightful personality. With surprising character as well as loads of cherry and raspberry fruit, it represents a naked expression of Ribera del Duero since no wood is utilized. Enjoy this Spanish red over the next several years.

The winters are long, the summers are short - not Buffalo but Ribera del Duero in Spain! This wine is produced from 500 acres of old vines whose roots grow deep in the limestone and sandy soils. 100% Tempranillo, it has brilliant garnet color, aromas and flavors of red raspberry, dark cherry, cranberry, and cocoa, smooth tannins and a crisp, juicy finish. It rivals the best of Australia at a better price. Enjoy this luscious wine with grilled pork chops, baked ham, or a very ripe brie.

Bright ruby. Vibrant, floral aromas of potent cherry, blueberry and cassis accented by violet and minerals. Sweet, expansive and zesty, the dark fruit flavors showing superb focus and energy, and bright acidity lifting and sharpening the tangy, persistent finish. This is all about fruit, with no signs of earth or herbs. A remarkable bargain.

The 2005 Torremoron is an unoaked cuvee of 100% Tempranillo from 60- to 90-year-old vines. Medium ruby-colored, it has a terrific perfume of wild berries including raspberry, strawberry, and cherry. On the palate the wine is youthful, very concentrated and structured. The finish is long and fruity. It seems unlikely that many people will cellar a $10 wine but this amazing effort should continue to evolve for 1ndash;2 years. Drink it with pleasure over the next 3ndash;4 years. It is an outstanding value.
