User Reviews for Tormaresca Red Blend Puglia IGT Neprica
Add your reviewSimple but a great weekday night dinner wine for the price. Not any where close to the complexity of Italy's greats from Piedmont or Tuscany but still give you a taste of the Italian terrior. More fruit forward than one would expect with a somewhat flat finish. Hints of red berry and strawberry.
Rustic and earthy, with chocolate and coffee flavors. We really like this wine a great deal, and it would pair well with red pasta dishes and grilled steak. Great value at around $10.
Rustic and leathery, with ripe fruit and fine tannins. The core is negroamaro earthiness but the cabernet adds some nice balance and complexity. This is a really fine value at around $10.
Nice wine, and pretty good for the price. Kind of low key and smooth, but with little floral spice-notes that dance around over top of the smoothness. This wine seemed a little delicate considering it has Primitivo and Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, but then again, I tried it after having a Primitivo. Overall a pretty good find.

Just selected as the Number 8 Best Buy of the Year for 2011 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine! From Antinori comes this incredibly delicious perpetual Best Buy. Neprica is a blend of 40% Negroamaro 30% Primitivo and 30% Cabernet from Antinori’s two estates in Puglia. Of course Negroamaro is the ubiquitous native variety found in virtually ever Puglia wine including the very popular Salice Salentino. Leave it to the masters at Antinori to blend in Cabernet to give it international class and style. Another 90-Point review and a Best Buy in Wine Enthusiast Magazine. They said "Neprica is an awesome blend of Negroamaro, Primitivo and Cabernet Sauvignon from southern Italy that offers an unbeatable price versus quality ratio. This rising star of Puglia would pair with meats, pasta or aged cheese and offers clean aromas of ripe fruit, spice and leather."
This wine has aromas of berries and light, spicy licorice. It is a harmonious blend with flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and hints of licorice with a balanced acidity.
Sehr dunkle Farbe. In der Nase reich an Duftnoten von roten und schwarzen Beeren, etwas Unterholzaromen, im Gaumen satt, anfänglich rund, dann kernige Tannine, mit einem mittleren Abgang.
WE 90pts. - Tasting Notes - You cannot get better value than this. Ripe berry notes, cassis, molasses and cola serve as a preface for the thick texture and smooth density that this wine delivers to the palate. The wine is thick and succulent with smooth tannins and great length: excellent quality for this very low price.
