What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

Tormaresca is made up of two estates in different areas of Puglia: in the central, inland region of Castel del Monte they have Aglianico, and in the Salento peninsula of the extreme south-east, Primitivo and Negroamaro. Cabernet and Chardonnay are grown in both zones, giving the winemaker a broad palette from which to blend the very consistent entry-level wines. Antinori only invested here in 1998, yet in that time Tormaresca has become a flagship of Puglian production. FROM SAM'S HOMELAND!!! ANGIE AND SAM ARE FROM THE PROVENCE OF PUGLIA. Naturally, many of their recipes will comfortably pair well with grapes from the region that they were most influenced by. Chardonnay from Italy, even the South of Italy is not nearly as rich in fat, tropical fruits the way a California Chardonnay is. If Cali Chard is too fat for you, this lean palate cleanser is an excellent wine with meals. Excellent buy!!!
