User Reviews for Tommasi Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico
Add your reviewMaintaining the requisite quality from a family that has been in the business since 1902 is no simple endeavor, but the Tommasi family has proven itself up to the task. Their 2001 Amarone - produced from the usual suspects of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara - is a rendition of this unequaled wine that inveigles the senses. There is a great refinement of warmth and ripeness on the nose that lingers in the palate. The mouth proffers an array of seamlessly mingled flavors of dried cherry/cranberry with depths of spiced truffle, roasted plum and cocoa/fruitcake nuances. It is a wine that is at once intense, yet, finessed with layers of grip and balanced acidity.
