Valpolicella Classica zone.
GRAPES: Corvina Veronese 50% - Corvinone 15%
Rondinella 30% - Molinara 5%
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 15 % by vol.
VINIFICATION: The grapes are dried for 5 months
prior to pressing
MATURATION: 3 years in Sloavian Oak barrels of
35 hectoliters
COLOR: Intense ruby red
FRAGRANCE: Warm, ripe on the nose,
intense and of great refinement.
TASTE: Complex, smooth, full bodied,
lots of cherry notes and plum.

Maintaining the requisite quality from a family that has been in the business since 1902 is no simple endeavor, but the Tommasi family has proven itself up to the task. Their 2001 Amarone - produced from the usual suspects of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara - is a rendition of this unequaled wine that inveigles the senses. There is a great refinement of warmth and ripeness on the nose that lingers in the palate.
