Tombu Rosé of Prieto Picudo Tierra de Castillo Y Leon Spain 2011

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Funky on the nose with a hint of reduction laying under big raspberry, rhubarb, guava and passionfruit aromas, flecked with hints of cocoa and earth. A bit slick on the palate with a fine vein of acidity that runs straight through the palate, lending this nice detail. The fruit is a touch matte but at the same time its quite aromatic in the mouth and delivers plenty of juicy red fruit with a soft candied edge. The finish shows nice almost plummy notes, with a hint of tannin and some alcohol showing up on the finale. A lot of wine here, intriguing, just a bit too much alcohol for my palate. 88pts
