Tomàs Cusiné Costers del Segre Geol 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

The wines here tend to be more spice driven with high fruit concentration and often a “savage” character to them that is quite appealing and delicious.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

From the other side of Priorat, the elegant yet substantial 2003 El Vilosell possesses a Bordeaux-like structure as well as a pure, clean, cool climate personality, raspberry and black currant flavors, excellent ripeness, good acidity, a distinctive minerality, and moderate tannin in the medium-bodied, nuanced finish. It is another fabulous bargain from Eric Solomonrsquo;s European Cellars. Drink it over the next 4ndash;5 years.

Opaque ruby. Cassis, violet and cured meat on the nose, with slow-burning oak spices. Licorice and mineral notes gain strength with air and carry onto the palate, adding complexity to the sweet cherry and blackcurrant flavors. Finishes with good grip and lingering dark berry notes. This is drinking very well right now.
