Tom Gore Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2017

External Review by We Speak Wine:

VINTAGE: The 2017 vintage started with ample water in the ground and in the reservoirs. An earlier-than-normal bud break with no frost events rolled into warm, sunny spring days. There were no heat events until late June, which signaled the fruit to ripen. Summer offered classic ripening with cool night and morning temperatures and moderate days. August heated up, bringing the fruit to optimum Brix levels. This allowed us the luxury to let all the fruit mature and to focus on flavor and tannin development. GRAPE SOURCING: We sourced our grapes from select Central Coast and North Coast vineyards where cool nights and warm afternoon breezes ripen the fruit slowly for intense, delicious flavor. North Coast vineyards showcase grassy notes with flavors of grapefruit and melon, while Central Coast vineyards feature hints of asparagus and citrus. WINEMAKING: • Fermentation: 100% stainless steel • Alc: 13.6% | TA: 6.53g/L | pH: 3.12 | RS: 3.0g/L • 98% Sauvignon Blanc, 2% French Colombard WINEMAKER NOTES: Our Sauvignon Blanc opens with fresh squeezed lime and grapefruit rind aromas, with hints of tangerine and white flowers. The mouthwatering citrus fruit carries through the palate and finishes with a crisp acidity.
