- Tollot-Beaut is a name synonymous with grace and elegance in Burgundy. Rarely have a I tasted a wine from this producer that hasn't struck me as intriguing, but the 2003 Corton-Bressandes was a knock-out. Richly textured with concentrated dark berry flavors, this lingers on the palate with nice spicy accents. This is still a bit of a baby as evidenced by the still fresh acidity and should mellow out nicely over the next few years.

- As it usually is, this is slightly finer with seductive plum and cassis aromas wrapped around a mineral core that introduce dusty, sweet and superbly intense medium full flavors that offer a bit more detail yet even more power. Ironically, this seems to be less elegant than the Corton and not quite as well balanced though I still quite like it.

- Exceptionally deep crimson. Quite heady and raw, but very pronounced fruit on the palate. Still chewy, but lively and convincing. Bright fruit, though not subtle.

- Mid-crimson. Very slightly stewed fruit on the nose. There is better value lower down the range. I seek more freshness.
