Tohu Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Brilliant pale green this wine has an ebullient nose bursting with lemongrass, passionfruit and gooseberries with a touch of “sweaty” pungency. Very concentrated on the palate this wine has great depth of flavour being packed with ripe passionfruit, typical tomato leaf and herbal notes within a balanced framework of fresh acidity and minerality. Dry but with evident sweetness from ripe sweet fruit this wine is a great partner for fresh New Zealand shellfish and other kai moana.
Tohu comprises of a range of premium quality varieties, exhibiting the strengths of each of the regions our wines are sourced from. Marlborough being renowned for its world class Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, Gisborne for stunning Chardonnay and Nelson, one of New Zealand's most exciting emerging wine regions, producing aromatic varieties such as Riesling and Pinot Gris.
Editorial Reviews for Tohu Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Intense with plenty of cat pee, pineapple and a hint of jalapeño on the nose. Nice and bright. Fluid in the mouth if a touch dilute with classic gooseberry and cat pee flavors. Could use more stuffing but in the classic aromatic style. 86pts
