Tobin James Zinfandel Paso Robles Ballistic 2009
Big white pepper on the nose with nondescript berry aromas. Zesty wild berry on the palate. Red fruit. Too hot for me. High alcohol that detracts. 84 pts. 8/31/12 at winery
I love Tobin wines and this may not be one of their Reserves or Fat Boy, but for the price it is a quality wine!
Four and a half glasses
I've loved past vintages, but the 2008 is way too sweet. It literally tastes like liquid raisin. Maybe in a few years, this wine will be better...

Like most of Toby's wines, this Ballistic Zinfandel is a rock 'em sock 'em Zinfandel, big, rambunctious, powerful and full of spice and sass. Maybe the ultimate barbeque zin, the wine is packed with ripe, juicy fruit and plenty of richness.
