R.H. Phillips Winery, nestled in the Dunnigan Hills northwest of of Sacremento, was founded in 1983 by brothers Karl and John Giguiere along with John’s wife Lane. Twenty-eight years later the Giguiere’s continue to produce quality wine with the help of winemakers Blake Kuhn and Owen Smith. Known for their Toasted Head brand wines, the winery sits on 1,700 acres and is a favorite site for weddings and other special events.
Really nice for the price. Lots of berries and spice. Nice mouthfeel.
Very mellow, smooth wine, perfect for newbie drinkers. I however, prefer my wine a bit bolder.
Good everyday wine with good feel and distinct flavors.
Full juicy berry flavors, with a hint of vanilla and notes of Mediterranean herbs and cedar. Smooth and interesting blend of Syrah, Zinfandel and Petite Syrah.

External Reviews for Toasted Head Untamed Red
This rich, mouth-filling wine features prominent flavors of wild blackberry and red raspberry. There are intriguing lavender accents on the nose, and the barrel aging adds nuances of vanilla and cedar. Round and ripe on the palate, the wine has medium tannins that carry into a long, spicy finish. Untamed Red is deeply hued, with notes of maroon and carmine.
